The Writing Journal- What Was My Word Count Again? - 7/17/2019

Hello again! Last week's journal was very popular! Popular in the sense that I've doubled the amount of views of my normal postings, from eight to sixteen. That isn't too bad, right? So in honor of the increase readers, I'am sharing my journey through writing again.

As you can see from the meme above, writing is SO HARD! By me sprinting through Mohinder's Wrath last week, I thought that I was some invincible writing god able to write at untold speeds. It turns out, that there is this little thing called life and it decided to get in the way this weekend.

Last Saturday, we moved into our new home. This is my first time owning a home, and let me tell you, I'm already tired. Between taking care of my child, cleaning, unpacking, and yard work, it took a full weekend. Yeah that's right yard work. I haven't had to work in the yard since I was sixteen, I forgot how hot it gets. Ugh! I haven't had much time to write because of this. In addition to Saturday chorses, that freedom Sunday that I was looking forward too, turned into a Honeydolist Sunday. So I didn't have time to edit all of The Alpha Nanny. Have no fear though. I will prevail and finish the darn book. With that, let's get to the break down of my WIPs.

This section of the writing journal is brought to you by, Jason's Awakening!

The Alpha Nanny Update

As you may know, I didn't get much editing done with The Alpha Nanny. I'm still working on that final draft. I did ever get my blurb finalized. Tell me what you think of it!

Deena Zheng is in over her head. With her father’s mounting medical bills, a townhome in disrepair, and more stress than one person should bear, it’s all she can do to stay afloat. Out of options and desperate to pull her family out of the red, she must get out of her comfort zone and accept a nanny position with her firm’s notoriously impossible client or risk her family’s livelihood.
Jesse Grant struggles to get past his grief after losing the love of his life. Ever since her death, the billionaire hedge fund manager has used alcohol to mask his pain and, in the process, lost a part of himself. With a young son to raise and a business to run, he must pull himself together before he jeopardizes everything he’s worked so hard to build.
When they meet, the physical attraction is undeniable, but their personal demons and new professional relationship will make any hopes of pursuing a relationship too complicated for either to handle.
Will they ignore their growing feelings for each other and keep their relationship strictly professional or will outside forces force them to reveal the truth?
Find out in this steamy second chance interracial AWBM contemporary romance!

Now that the blurb is finished, I am working on getting my cover created. I should be having a cover reveal soon, so stay posted.

Remember, The Alpha Nanny goes on sale August 30th. I will have a preorder link soon!

Sadly, I will be posting The Alpha Nanny on Kindle Unlimited when it releases, and with Amazon's policy I am not allowed to have the book be on any other platform, but Amazon's. Therefore, I will be removing the story off Wattpad. I've already made this public on Wattpad last week, but I've decided the date for removal is 7/21/2019. To those who are still reading and haven't finished by this date, I'm sorry! If you would still like a copy to read, please e-mail me at remymarieauthor@gmail.com and I'll forward you an ARC for free.

The Alpha Experience Update

The sequel to The Alpha Nanny is coming along. I've finished the rough draft of Chapter 4, and I am currently writing Chapter 5.

Here is a little about the book, this of course is spoiler free of The Alpha Nanny. The story follows the love life of Bruce Zhang, Deena's brother. He goes to Argentina to get away from family, but meets a whole new one in the country.

I am very excited to write this book not only because I think The Alpha Nanny/ Bruce deserves another story, I am also including some of my own experiences from Argentina in this book. So it should be interesting.

As far as word count goes, I wanted to write 7,500 words this week, but I was only able to write around 4,000 words. So as the title of this post explains, writing is hard. Last week, I aimed small with 7,500 words. This week I think I am just going to aim smaller. Perhaps 5,000 words?

Next Week Work Schedule

This section is more for me, less for you. However, I think it’s cool to see what I’m planning on doing over the next week, until the next blog. This schedule is not set in stone, I may be either ahead or behind schedule it all depends on what is actually happening that day. I also have a day job and a family, so my life always has it's unexpected turns.

Thursday: Blog Day/ Editing The Alpha Nanny (Depends on how long this blog post takes!)

Friday: Writing Day (No set writing goals. Just write)/ Editing The Alpha Nanny

Saturday: Editing The Alpha Nanny/ Writing Cover Reveal PR

Sunday: Editing The Alpha Nanny/ Unpublishing The Alpha Nanny on Wattpad

Monday: Writing Day/ Publishing The Alpha Nanny for Pre Orders

Tuesday: Writing Day

Wednesday: Blog Day/ Writing Day

Total Word Count Goal: 5,000. I couldn't get to last week's goal of 7,500, so I am aiming smaller.
